Prosthetic Devices
The prosthetics division of (AAS) Orthotics and Prosthetics is well known for the attention to detail and exceptional care we offer every prosthetics patient. This department has been the first in the Tri-State area (Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia) to introduce many new developments in the technologically advancing prosthetics field.

Blow The Knee:
Foot Prosthesis,Dynamic-Response WithC-Stance Multi-Axial Ankle
Purpose of the Device:
Purpose of the Device:
- Provides a low-maintenance, functional multi-axial ankle/foot system for the moderately active to extremely active transtibial or transfemoral amputee
- Transtibial or transfemoral amputee requiring an energy-storing multi-axial ankle
- Foot and ankle are customized to patient's height and weight and activity level
- Not recommended for initial or temporary prosthesis
Foot Prosthesis, Multi-Axial
Purpose of the Device:
Purpose of the Device:
- For use on uneven ground
- Moderate to active patient requiring inversion/eversion, as well as torque absorption
- Range of variable-density elastomers to control degree of inversion/eversion are available
- Complicated design requires more maintenance
Post Operative Prosthesis Socket and Preparatory Sytem
Purpose of the Device:
Purpose of the Device:
- Allows patient to begin immediate post-operative rehabilitation and early ambulation by offering added protection
- Permits diligent wound care and controlled weight bearing
- Helps build patient tolerance for permanent socket
- Transtibial amputees
- Variable circumference supra-patellar socket (VCSPS)
- Adjustable post-operative protective prosthetic socket (APOPPS)
- Severe diabetics may not be viable candidates for post-op system
Transtibial Prosthesis,Endoskeletal Suction
Purpose of the Device:
Purpose of the Device:
- The vertical load pylon and multi-axial dynamic-response foot provide a comfortable and highly functional prosthesis for the moderate to active transtibial amputee
- Active to extremely active transtibial amputee
- Cosmetic and protective covers
- Not recommended for geriatric or inactive patients due to functional capacity and weight of prosthetic
- Not recommended for patients with poor hand dexterity or poor hygiene
Transtibial Prosthesis, Supra-Condylar, PTB, Endoskeletal
Purpose of the Device:
Purpose of the Device:
- The co-polymer socket and soft insert, alignable pylon system, and lightweight energy-storing foot provide a lightweight,self-suspending functional prosthesis for the transtibial amputee
- Amputee with a short residual limb who requires greater medial and lateral stability at the knee
- Cosmetic cover
- Lightweight suspension sleeve
- Not recommended for extremely active amputees
Above The Knee:
Knee Prosthesis, Modular Hydraulic
Purpose of the Device:
Purpose of the Device:
- Provides weight-activated rotary hydraulic stance-phase stability plus cadence-responsive rotary hydraulic swing-phase control
- Transfemoral patient with moderate to higher activity levels
- Wide range of applications for both active amputees and those who require a high degree of stability
- The 135-degree flexion angle is a definite advantage when bicycling, entering a car, kneeling or sitting
Knee Prosthesis, Polycentric With Hydraulic Swing Phase Control
Purpose of the Device:
Purpose of the Device:
- For transfemoral amputees with moderate functional levels and body weight up to 220lbs
- The polycentric design offers increased stability during stance phase
- The knee joint is stable under weight bearing up to 15 degrees of knee flexion
- The 3R60 knee joint may be adjusted to suit the activity level and the weight of the amputee
- The unit has a cushion and stance flexion bumper that add comfort during stance phase
Transfemoral Prosthesis, AK
Purpose of the Device:
Purpose of the Device:
- Provides transfemoral amputee with a lightweight, functional initial prosthesis that accommodates volume changes in the residual limb
- Includes adjustable quad. socket, hip joint, waist belt, single-axis constant-friction knee with stance control, extension assist, and pylon and Sach foot
- Transfemoral amputee
- Distal-end pads
- Manual-lock knee
- Single-axis foot
- May require a socket change due to changes in volume of residual limb
Transfemoral Prosthesis, Endoskeletal With Cosmetic Cover
Purpose of the Device:
Purpose of the Device:
- The prosthesis offers improved ambulation and restores appearance, or body image
- For patients where prosthetic adjustability is desired
- Suspension of the prosthesis varies from suction to hip joint with waist belt
- Environmental conditions such as working in the outdoors and exposure to rain, sand, etc., may contraindicate its use
Transfemoral Prosthesis, Modular Suction Suspension
Purpose of the Device:
Purpose of the Device:
- This is a self-suspending design
- Flexible inner front socket is to provide comfort to the wearer, as well as suction for suspension
- The rigid outer frame gives strength to the socket
- Patients with a longer limb length with good musculature of the affected limb
- A total elastic suspension belt added for auxiliary suspension
- Good skin integrity, good personal hygiene required
Upper Extremity:
I-Hand
Purpose of the Device:
Purpose of the Device:
- Replacement hand, prosthetic device with five individually powered digits
- Existing users of basic myoelectric prosthetic hands
- New amputee patients
- Cosmesis
Upper Extremity Amputation, Self-Suspending Myoelectri Transradial Prosthesis
Purpose of the Device:
Purpose of the Device:
- Provides a cosmetic restoration/hand that allow for controlled palmar prehension
- No harnessing on the prosthesis which enhances the patient's body image
- Electric wrist rotators to increase pronation and supination
Spinal:
BioMiniBelt
Purpose of the Device:
Purpose of the Device:
- The BioMiniBelt is trim and low-profile at 5.5” in height and just tall enough to allow fixation of 4 self-adhesive, Velcro-backed electrodes. The side panels can be shifted in or out to shrink or enlarge the circumference of the belt to fit a large range of sizes.
The BioMiniBelt is for lumbar pain management.
Indications:
- Potential BioMiniBelt patients are evaluated for electric stim compatibility and each patient will be followed to measure their outcomes, pain reduction and compliance for one year following BioMiniBeltplacement.
- If the patient is not a candidate for self-adhering electrodes, the BioGel electrodes can be added [additional cost].
- The BioMiniBelt qualifies under most medicare plans for insurance reimbursement.
